CABBAGE
The cabbage, stalky and wrinkled, with its flattened shape, could serve as a metaphor for the rusticity of a Portugal that Bordallo so often satirized. This was a clever way to honor it, placing it at the center of bourgeois tables where, otherwise, it would never have been invited. And today, our Cabbage is an essential element on any table and in any setting, admired by both the elderly and the young, flourishing in various colors: Green, White, and Pink!
