Joana Astolfi (born in Lisbon, 1975) is an architect, artist and designer. Her work focuses on the art of storytelling through objects and spaces. Inspired by everyday materials, such as miniatures, toys, tools and photographs, she creates poetic narratives which explore the boundary between memory and imagination. Recognized for her artistic sensitivity and incessant curiosity, she combines sophistication, humor and a playful spirit in each project. After several years living and working outside of Portugal, in 2007 she founded Studio Astolfi in Lisbon, a multidisciplinary studio dedicated to architecture, design and artistic installation.
