He attended the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon. He started his activity as a designer and illustrator in 1980 and, ten years later, he founded his own studio where he develops editorial work, branding, exhibitions, interventions in public space and design consultancy, for Portugal and abroad. Directed between 1995 and 2001, the Seminário Avançado de Design de Comunicação at Ar.Co. Visiting professor at the University of Aveiro since 2004. He was President of the Centro Português de Design between2004 and 2012. He was part of the European Directorate for Design [BEDA - The Bureau of European Design Associations], between 2008 and 2012.
