With the A Lanterna Mágica magazine nº 5, on the 12th July 1875, is born the image of Zé Povinho, a sarcastic caricature of the Portuguese people, opportunistic and cunning. The drawing caricature or the ceramic piece, Zé Povinho is the most emblematic creation of Bordallo and the most correct metaphor of our collective character.
